Day 2Yikes, what a day. We started out this morning and were on the road at 7:30am. Things were going well but we hit this head wind that stayed with us all the way through Nebraska. Gas mileage was crap. We realized that if we slowed down 10mph slower (70) then our gas mileage almost doubled. So we did that- but it made for a slow trip. Also, we stopped in Sydney to let the kids see Cabella's - but it wasn't open. So then we decided to hit Wal Mart - finally a hour later back on the road, but not for long. Marky had to go to the bathroom again. So we stopped in Chapella (a little Nebraska town - if you've seen one, you've seen all). We got another 100 miles up the road and decided to go to Buffalo Bill's Ranch in North Platte. It was a miserable little town, hot and muggy, high gas prices... Nice to see it in the rear view mirror. Then we stopped in Lincoln - which was beautiful - but hot and muggy, like everything else here. Finally, we arrived here in Kansas City, Mo at about midnight local time (we lost an hour which means we have to get up an hour earlier tomorrow). So, although we were not actually driving the while time, we were on the road for almost 16 hours -not including the hour we lost.
