Today was another fun-filled, extremely long day. We got up early to enjoy the breakfast that is provided by the hotel (which is actually pretty good), and then we hit the road...again. We had voted on seeing Independence which is just minutes from our hotel. The second we got to the park services place for the Truman tour we were rushed into a tour, after, of course, Emily explains to the tour guides that she is a princess. Samantha loved the tour and soaked it all in. Because the house was "a few" blocks away from the park services office, we were able to enjoy a nice, hot, sunny stroll back to the van in which we stopped at Clinton's Soda Fountain where President Truman had his first job and got some ice cream sandwhiches. We then went to the visitor's center. It was so nice but a lot like Salt Lake's VC. Sister Madson had met Aunt Carolyn...oops...Sister Toone on the transfer bus to Topeka and Junction City. She spoke really highly of our Sister Toone. After we left the VC we walked to the Temple Lot and the Community of Christ temple and then started back to the van by the VC. Two sister missionaries started running out of the VC towards us, one was Sister Madson and another was a blonde, curlly haired Sister Missionary. The Sister Missionary said she had heard we were there and wanted to meet us. Sister Toone had been her trainer and she loved Sister Toone and wanted to meet us because we were Sister Toone's family. She turned out to be Sister Carroll from Cedar City, the one in the picture that was hanging over Emily's bed for so long. Sister Carroll told us everything we already know such as how wonderful Sister Toone is and how much fun she is to be with. We then decided to go to Richmond and then Excelsior Springs (where Zion's Camp happened) which is self explanatory by the pictures. Our next stop was Liberty for some dinner but we will be heading back on Wednesday for the tourist stuff. We finally get back to the hotel after a few side trips into some different neighborhoods (this place's spaghetti bowls put the Salt Lake spaghetti bowl to shame). Now "to sleep, per chance to dream." Another fun filled day planned for tomorrow.

It looks like you guys are having way to much fun! And to think that you only just started... Del, good job with the narratives, they are fun to read. I hope that you all had fun today at Liberty. I wish that Jen and I could tag along.
