Day 5

Today we finally got to see Liberty Jail. It was really good to see such an important place for our religion and an important place for our Aunt Nuhnuhnun. This trip is starting to put together all of the events from the Churches history more coherently instead of just the garbelled events that happened somewhere back East and sometime a long time ago. I can also see why Sister Toone loves this area so much. We have never met nicer people. They are even nicer than the people in LA (surprise, surprise) ;). We thought it was just the people that work for tourists (hotel and museum workers) but it is everybody. We were stopped in the grocery store in Liberty by a woman who wanted to talk about Alex and her grandbaby. When we got to Jamesport (the Amish community), everybody kept waving. We stopped at an Amish home that was selling woodworking stuff and the girl that was there said she is always shocked when she leaves her town because people don't wave at others. All in all, it was an amazing day. There is so much to see here and so little time. The drive to the hotel was shorter tonight. We decided to drive straight to the hotel instead of taking a tour of the freeway system.

Jamesport (Amish) Amish people don't like their pictures taken - Exodus 24 I think. So we tried to respect that but we couldn't resist these two pictures.
